Introducing Tina...
Tina's is a beautifully elegant and feminine girl from the last litter of our charming minx Debbie (aka Aust Ch Mzalia Texas Cheerleader). She is named after the singer Tina Turner, Private Dancer being her breakout solo album from 1984.
"Private Dancer" also relates nicely to the saucy elements of Debbie's name.
Tina is a very outgoing, loving and affectionate girl, who loves making new friends and playing with our boys, especially her brother Ryan and our Finnish boy Keke. Around the house, she loves having cuddles, and her favourite toys are tennis balls, and any toy that has a squeaker in it.
She also adores puppies!
In the show ring, Tina also has this endearing habit of doing play-bows and spin turns when leaving the Group or Specials Ring. It almost like she knows she has done something special by getting there, and she is going to make the most of it!
Puppies
Tina had her first litter of puppies on 04 June 2008, sired by MBISS Aust Ch Baagna Wotta Jackpot. For more information about these puppies you can visit their page by clicking here.
Tina has recently been mated to our handsome Finnish import Aust Ch Vanguardian Real McCoy, and all things going well, the puppies will be due in the latter part of May. For more information, please visit our Planned Litters page.
Show Record...
Tina has had a wonderful show career, being a multiple Best in Group and Class in Show winner. The highlight of her career however, would have to be her Specialty Best in Show win at the 2007 Basenji Club of Victoria Specialty.
Other awards Tina has won include:
2005/06 Spitz Breeds Club of South Australia "Spitz of the Year"
#8 Basenji in Australia - 2005 DogzOnLine Point Score
#9 Basenji in Australia - 2007 DogzOnLine Point Score (from just 13 shows for the year!)
Critiques...
"An elegant bitch showing lovely coat and good colour set off with good head and colour of eye, good tail set. Her lack of condition let her down on the day."
Mrs Kay Eldred (New South Wales, Jebelmarra Basenjis)
Basenji Club of Victoria Inc Championship Show - 21 February 2009 3rd Place - Australian Bred Bitch Class
"Beautiful bitch of outstanding type, lovely size & quality, classic head & expression, lovely chiselling around the eyes, small hooded ears right on top of head, dark eyes with inscrutable expression, correct fine wrinkle, long neck, level topline, deep chest, lovely rich red colour, covered the ground well, in tip top form. When breed type, size & quality come together like this, it is impossible to resist. Obviously!"
Mr Glen Dymock (United Kingdom/Australia, Afrika Kennels)
Basenji Club of Victoria Inc Championship Show - 25 March 2007 BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW
"...for sheer type this would have been my choice, epitomises the 'gazelle-like-grace' I love to see, full of elegance and quality, when she tightens in front & feet could do very well..."
Mr Simon Parsons (United Kingdom)
Basenji Club of New South Wales Inc - 09 October 2004 4th Place (of 18) - Baby Puppy Bitch Class
