Introducing Ryan...
Ryan is a goofy, fun-loving boy from the last litter of our charming minx Debbie (aka Aust Ch Mzalia Texas Cheerleader).
Ryan is named after the Academy Award winning film Saving Private Ryan. I have been a long time Friend of the Australian War Memorial, and rarely miss an ANZAC Day Dawn service or March. The photo of Ryan featured on this page is of him in front of one of the War Memorials near where we live in Two Wells.
Ryan loves cuddles with him mum and dad - when he comes inside from a run in the paddock, he launches himself onto your lap - so you need to be sure you are ready for him! And when you are trying to groom him, he will roll onto his back, go flat-head, smile and wave at you with his front paws.
Like his sister Tina (aka BISS Aust Ch Mzalia Private Dancer), his favourite toys are tennis balls and squeaky toys, and his favourite game is to play "hide and seek" with his humans when bedtime comes around.

2 dogs that have received Group Placements in Norway
Class in Show winner and multiple Class in Group winners
Show Record...
Ryan has some pleasing results during his show career - especially at Breed Specialties and under International Judges. He has been a Reserve Challenge and Runner-up Best of Breed winner at the Royal Adelaide Show (South Australia's largest show of the year), and a multiple Specialty Class winner.
In addition to this, Ryan was also the 2004/2005 Spitz Breeds Club of South Australia Spitz Puppy of the Year.
Ryan has been a very easy dog to show, as he carries himself with great poise and pride - but he has one very interesting little habit - once during every appearance in the ring, he has to come to a dead stop and refuse to move without a gentle tug on the lead. This would normally happen as he would enter the ring, or just after been examined in the table.
What a character this boy is!
Critiques...
"Very typey dog, lovely head and expression, good wrinkle, used his ears well, long neck, good forehand. Hind movement could have more width. Fine bone, stepped out well."
Mr Glen Dymock (United Kingdom/Australia, Afrika Kennels)
Basenji Club of Victoria Inc Championship Show - 25 March 2007 2nd Place - Intermediate Dog Class
"Red and white of super type with a classical head, eye and expression, strong neck with an overall refined, but nonetheless masculine appearance. His front assembly could be improved upon, but he moved with great style and freedom to win the class."
Dr Ron James (United Kingdom)
