Zayla's Show Career
She had her first shows with us in early January 2003, and whilst her inexperience and immaturity was obvious, it was also obvious that she was having a lot of fun as well. She has improved as she has matured, and has had some very promising results, including a Runner-up in Group, Best of Breeds, Runner-up Best of Breeds and multiple Classes in Group. In October 2003, Zayla earned the last of the points required to become an Australian Champion. This was soon followed by her first Class in Show win. And all of this has happened despite of her unfortunate show-side back leg markings. A girl who moves and carries herself with a lot of elegance and poise, we are looking forward to seeing how Zayla goes as she continues to mature. Traditionally, representatives of her family have taken until they were two years or more to fully mature, so we may have to wait a little while longer before we can see Zayla's true potential. Zayla is now shown on a semi-regular basis, as we have found she gets a little to bored with it all if she is shown too often. We are planning some exciting new ventures with Zayla later this year after she completes her maternal duties - so watch this space for more news!
