A Little About Taz...
Say hello to "Taz" - a handsome son of our Jason and Flame.
A very soundly built individual, Taz has a lot of nice qualities,
and it is delightful to see so much of both of his parents in him. He has a lovely head
with beautiful fine diamond wrinkle, and well hooded ears. Taz also has a good lay of
shoulder and nice moderate turn of rear stifle. On the move, he combines his mother's wonderful
free-flowing movement, with his father's arrogance and attitude.
But in addition to all of this, Taz has a
wonderful outgoing personality. Bright and outgoing, he loves everyone and takes all new
experiences in his stride. And at home he loves to have cuddles with his human friends,
and play rough-house with all of the the other adult basenjis. He gets so excited to see
them in fact, that he wags his tail, smiles and goes what we call "flat-head" -
just like his mother Flame does when she gets excited.
Even though he has not been used at stud, he is also a very good predictor of when the
bitches are about to come into season. When he starts gently nibbling you with his front
teeth, it is a sure sign that your girls are only six weeks away from coming into
season....
Named after the "Tasman" racing
series which used to be run in Australia and New Zealand during the 1960's and early
1970's (in which the English Lotus Racing Team used to take part), Taz's pedigree combines
some of the best of the New South Wales (Baagna) and Victorian (Helios) Bloodlines. His
parentage also represents the first occurrence of line breeding to littermates from the
very successful Baagna "Racy" litter, through Jason's mother Aus Ch
Baagna Racy N Ravishing (Red) and Flame's father Aus Ch Baagna Racy N
Blackk (Jet). Both of these individuals have been very successful in both the
show ring, and at stud.

Jason
has been a wonderfully consistent
performer in the show ring and has been an All Breeds Best in Show, and Multiple
All-Breeds Runner-up Best in Show winner. He also has an excellent record at Breed Specialty Shows,
including Best in Show at the 2001 Basenji Club of Victoria Championship
Show. And the performances of his progeny to date indicate he may become just as good a
sire as well. Puppies from his first litter were born in 1999, and has produced
an Australian Champion and a Multiple Best in Show and Runner-up Best in Show
winner winner at All-Breeds Championship Show level.

Jason any justice in just a couple of sentences here.

These are qualities she has consistently passed on to her puppies.
