Mzalia Basenjis are proud to announce the safe arrival of Flame's 2003 litter, sired by the wonderful dog Aus Ch Baagna Regal Rascal.

On 15th June, Flame produced two lovely (and very large!) red and white pups - 1 male and 1 female.

In the Show Ring, these puppies are known as:

Magenta and Travis and beautifully conformed individuals; very sound with lovely light movement, superb breed type, and Flame's typical wonderful, outgoing temperament.

We selected the middle name of Time for this litter, as the puppies produced by this mating have some wonderful old Australian lines close up in their pedigree.

These puppies have performed very well in the Show Ring, and have had some excellent results in their careers to date.

Magenta, is a sweet girl with a very pretty, feminine head, and nice hindquarters. She also has small ears, and a good topline and tailset.

A cheeky little girl, in personality she a very affectionate fun-loving individual, making her a delight to live with.

Magenta has been retained by Mzalia Basenjis, and has had an excellent career so far with multiple Best & Runner-up Best in Group and Class in Group wins.

At Breed Specialty Shows Magenta has excelled. In 2006 she was Opposite Australian Bred in Show at the Basenji Cub of Victoria Specialty, and second in the Open Bitch Class (the largest adult class) at the Basenji Club of New South Wales Specialty, and at the 2007 Basenji Club of Victoria Specialty she was third in the large Australian Bred Bitch class.

We are also very proud to announce that Magenta is the 2003/2003 SA Spitz Puppy of the Year, an award previously won by one of our star performers Aus Grand Ch Baagna Virst Legend. She also qualified as a finalist in the 2004 and 2005 SACA Open Show Dog of the Year: Hound Group.

Mzalia Time Traveller (Travis)

Travis a very handsome and masculine dog, with a lovely body, excellent length of neck and a nice masculine head. He also has a good tailset and topline, and a fine coat.

A happy go-lucky boy, he readily wags his tail, and is a good talker.

Travis has been retained by Mzalia Basenjis, and had a great start to his career with 1 Class in Show, 5 Classes in Group and 2 Baby Sweepstakes wins in his first 4 months of showing.

Unfortunately an injury has kept Travis out of the ring since February 2004. As much as were were hoping for him to be able to make a return to the ring, sadly rehabilitation from his injury has not been good enough to allow it.
