On Tuesday 14th May, Aus Ch Mzalia Texas Cheerleader (Debbie) produced
3 boys and 2 girls (all red and white) - to Eilsta Undaunted Spirit.
This
is Debbie's first litter and she
has been an excellent mother.
We are very happy with the quality of this litter of pups, most of the them inheriting the qualities we were looking for by line-breeding to
Aus Ch Baagna Tiz
Wundaful - a dog of beautiful breed type with excellent front and hindquarters. "Wizzy"
- as
he is known to his friends - is a prepotent stud dog, and has produced some
beautiful puppies from limited opportunities at stud.
And perhaps most thrilling of all - all of the pups have inherited their
father's delightful temperament. Adam was the happiest, waggiest and most
outgoing basenji we have had the pleasure of owning, and it has been a true joy to
experience that again through his children.
We selected Caught as the middle name for this litter, as it enabled
us to come up with many names which are a play on their mother's name. (And if
you were wondering, yes, Debbie was named after that film!)

Ch Mzalia Caught on Camera (Canon)
A cobby, masculine and very handsome youngster, Canon was shown
by us at Mzalia Basenjis.
We originally did not plan on running on a male from this
litter, but there was so much to like about Canon, we decided to run him on.
An older style basenji, was Canon a slower developer than the
boys in the Casino litter, but as he has matured he became a consistent winner
at Group level. He also did well at Basenji Specialties, regularly being
short-listed in his class.
The first Champion produced by both of his parents, Canon was a Best of Breed and multiple Class in Group winner at All Breeds
Championship Show level, and a Multiple Class in Show winner at Open Show level.
Canon was retired from the show ring in October 2004, and he is
now the very spoilt companion of Rose on Kangaroo Island.

Caught in a Trap (Sampo)
Exported to Finland
Thyroid: Normal TgAA Negative, Eyes: J1 (Clear)
Sampo's first babies have been born!
Congratulations to
Fin Ch Hanishan Peppi-Peppar and her owner Virpi, on the safe arrival of
1 boy and 3 girls (all red & white)
See them here
Another very handsome and masculine boy, Sampo was the one who
most reminded me of Debbie's gorgeous brother Mzalia
Texas Ranger. It was a difficult decision when deciding between Canon and
Sampo, and there really was very little in it.
Now a very leggy and elegant adult, Sampo lives with his Auntie
Esprit (Mzalia Lotus Esprit), and is the spoiled and much loved companion of Helena and
Petri.
He initially lived in Victoria, but in July 2005 his family
returned to their native Finland. This move makes Sampo (and Esprit) the first
Mzalias to make their way overseas.
Happy trails our sweet boy - and we hope you enjoy your exciting
overseas adventure.

Mzalia
Caught Kissing (Zoe)
Zoe is a very feminine and elegant young lady. She is a bitch of beautiful breed type, with a sensational head,
excellent topline and good length of neck. Zoe was also one of the most loving
and affectionate basenjis we have ever owned, hence her show name.
A Runner-up in Group, and multiple Class in Group winner, unfortunately
Zoe decided that she did not enjoy the show ring at all.
Zoe is now the much loved companion of the Wildy family in South
Australia.

Mzalia
Caught in the Act (Monica)
A very fine and pretty girl, Monica was by far the smallest
puppy in the litter at birth, but she has a personality that is larger than
life.
Whenever there was trouble a-foot, you would always find Monica
in the middle of it - hence her show name "Caught in the Act". She
gets her call name from Monica Lewinsky.
From limited appearances in the ring, Monica was a Class in Show
and Class in Group winner at Open Show level.
Monica has a beautiful head, length of neck and coat and
delightful personality. Due to her very small stature, Monica was never going to
be a long term show or breeding prospect, and has subsequently been spayed and
placed in a wonderful pet home.

Caught Red Handed (Taji)
Taja was a very pretty puppy with a sweet head, excellent coat and nice
hindquarters. A nice moving puppy, Taja also has the smallest ears you could
ever hope to see in a basenji.
A loving and affectionate boy, he always wanted to be the centre of attention
when he was living with us.
Taja is the very spoiled companion of Michelle LeDuff in Victoria.
