A Little About
Giambi...
Say hello to Giambi - a handsome visitor to the Mzalia tribe during 2004. He stayed with us for a few months on loan from Bob &
Robyn Richardson's Tocayo Kennels in New South Wales.
Giambi is a very handsome boy, well bodied with wonderful masculine head,
excellent orange-red coat, lovely small well-hooded ears, and good hindquarters.
He is also a very loving and affectionate boy, and is one of the most
people-oriented basenjis we have had the pleasure of meeting. He is a delightful
clown to have around the house.
His breeders are big baseball fans, and Giambi is named after
Jason Giambi, First Baseman of the New York Yankees Baseball team when
he was born in 2003.
About Giambi's parents...
Giambi has a very interesting pedigree, combining the successful Baagna,
Teschi and Pukkanut lines, and brings some exciting new blood into our kennel.
Sire:
Aus Ch Baagna Xs Aztec
Aztec is a lovely masculine dog from the first litter of of his parents Aus
Ch Baagna Wotta Jackpot and Aus Ch Baagna Ultra Babe. This was an extremely
successful litter producing 3 Champions and 1 Grand Champion from the 4 pups in
the litter to be shown. Two of his litter brothers have already been used at
stud and have produced Champions.
I do not have a lot of information about Aztec's show results, but I do know
that he has placed in Class, and twice won the "Best Red & White Coat" class at
Basenji Specialty Shows.
Dam:Aus Ch Tocayo Juma
Juma
is a pretty, feminine bitch of lovely breed type, with excellent coat,
hindquarters, topline and tail. She descends from the successful Pukkanut and
Teschi lines. Giambi is from her first litter.
I do not have complete information about Juma's show career, but she has been
a Runner-up in Group and Class in Show winner at All Breeds Championship Show
level.
