One of the happy results of Chloe's unexpected "Hidden" litter was that it meant I was able to fulfil an order for a bitch puppy from Dee Wheatley in the Northern Territory. Dee told me that she had not shown dogs before, and that she wanted a little girl who would primarily be a pet, but whom she could enter in the odd show.

I was hopeful that little "Valley Girl" (as we called her then) would fill the bill. She was a very loving puppy, and from an early age strutted around the backyard in a manner very reminiscent of her father, Jason (Aus Gr Ch Baagna Virst Legend). I thought she would make a good first show dog for Dee.

That, Ishtar has certainly proven to be, being a consistent winner at Breed, Group and in Show level, and is still a regular Best in Group winner. But Ishtar is also a wonderful and loving companion for Dee - she even helped Dee's cat raise her last litter of kittens!

On the 4th of March 2000, little Ishtar gave us all a wonderful thrill when she went Runner-up Best Exhibit in Show (from the Minor Puppy Class!) at the Alice Springs Kennel Club Championship show. Then on 22nd September 2001, Ishtar brought up her title in the very best possible way by going BEST IN SHOW under Mr Dennis Glackin (NSW), giving Mzalia another All Breeds Best in Show winner. She added a second All Breeds Best in Show win in August 2003.

Ishtar is an elegant feminine bitch with many nice qualities: the most super-fine coat you could ever hope to see, excellent topline, tailset and length of neck, good shelf, and a lovely light, free-flowing gait.

Ishtar is the foundation bitch of Dee's Katimbari Kennel, and has had two litters.

Katimbari Wild ov Heart (aka Kye ya) was retained by her breeder and has Best Exhibit in Group and Class in Show wins to her credit. In March 2007 she also became Katimbari's first homebred Australian Champion.

Now in the twilight of her show career, Ishtar has recently had her last litter of puppies. Born on 19th July 2006, Ishtar produced 1 boy and 3 girls (all red & white) to our own fun-loving youngster Wazazi Sheer Genius. Please click here to see the pedigree produced by this mating.

From this litter, Dee has retained KatimBari Desert Rose (aka Alla) who won Opposite Minor Puppy in Show and Best Red & White Coat at the 2007 Basenji Club of Victoria Specialty Show.
